Gi BJJ Training

The Art of Leverage

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art focused on grappling and ground fighting, teaching students how to use technique and leverage to overcome larger, stronger opponents.

By training in the traditional gi (kimono), students learn a deeply technical game that emphasizes grips, collar chokes, and precise positional control. The friction of the uniform slows the pace of the fight down compared to No-Gi, forcing practitioners to think several steps ahead and rely purely on technique rather than athletic explosiveness.

In this program, you will learn:

  • Grip fighting and collar control
  • Guard passing, sweeps, and reversals
  • Joint locks and lapel-based chokes
  • Takedowns utilizing the kimono
  • Defense and escape from inferior positions

At 662 JiuJitsu, our focus extends beyond the mats. Whether your goal is self-defense, fitness, competition, or personal growth, you’ll gain valuable skills, improve your health, build lasting friendships, and become part of a supportive community.
